Graeme Souness says Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah are ‘irreplaceable’ for Liverpool but doesn’t believe Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the same level

Van Dijk and Salah have both signed new deals before their existing deals expire this summer, while Alexander-Arnold is wanted by Real Madrid but has yet to clarify his plans beyond this season. Souness is a

“I can understand why Trent wants a new challenge at Real Madrid,” the Liverpool legend told Sky Sports.
“He’s been at Liverpool since he was 10 years old and has won everything with them. He could have gone places and not liked it but he’s come back because I’m sure he’ll be welcomed there. “
But in terms of a replacement, they’ve got Conor Bradley, who I think will be a real player for Liverpool. He’s got great energy and likes to get up front. He can get to the end zone more than Trent. “
Trent’s got a great ball-playing ability, which few people I’ve ever seen play football have, but those two are irreplaceable.”
Asked about Salah’s plans for the Reds this summer, Souness added: “He’s already done the most important thing. That was the signing of Van Dijk and Salah because there were no replacements for them.”
