The wife of Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has revealed the shocking reason behind her husband’s abrupt exit from the pitch during the Europa League win over Lyon in midweek.

Lindelof’s wife Maya has explained why her husband suddenly went missing during the game against Lyon following the tragic incident involving their youngest son.
“An hour before the game (against Lyon) our nanny called to say they were in an ambulance and on their way to hospital,” she posted.
“My youngest son, Francis, has a full head fracture. He was running after his brother Ted and Louie at home and slipped on our glass stairs. “
His forehead was split in two. He’s in hospital all Thursday and Friday. He had to undergo plastic surgery to put his forehead back in place. He was put under general anaesthesia. “
It’s the first time I’ve ever seen anything like this happen to my child. It’s absolutely horrible and not something I want to go through again. The surgery went very well and Francis is back to normal. He’s a Viking.
“Everyone was very worried but he carried on with his life as if nothing had happened. The doctors said he’d have a big scar on his forehead so it’s fine. I’m just glad everything is fine.”
The Lindelofs have been married since May 2018 and are expecting their third child together later this year. Their
future in Manchester beyond the season remains up in the air with Lindelof’s contract due to expire at the end of June.
The 30-year-old has made 277 appearances for the Red Devils since joining from Benfica in the summer of 2017, winning the League Cup and FA Cup during the period.
