Crystal Palace have triggered a deal to keep striker Jean-Philippe Mateta until the end of the 2026-27 season, rewarding his impressive form and keeping out other clubs.

Ufabet Sport reports that the 27-year-old is entering the final 18 months of his current deal, which runs until June 2026, but a highly-reliable source says the Frenchman has already secured a team option, extending his contract to two and a half years.

Although there has been no official confirmation from the Eagles, it is believed that an announcement will be made within 48 hours, providing assurance to the team and the player as they attempt to negotiate a new long-term contract.

Mateta’s ambition is to produce consistent performances, preferably with a bigger team. To earn a place in the French squad for the 2026 World Cup finals.

Mateta was a key weapon for Register ufabet head coach Oliver Glasner last season. Scoring 10 goals in 11 games and helping the team finish 10th in the English Premier League.

He continued his hot streak with the French U-23 team as an overage player in Paris at the 2024 Olympics. Winning a silver medal, scoring five goals in the tournament.

For this season, he has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 21 games in all competitions. Hoping to lift the team from 16th in the league table in the away game at Bournemouth.
